fall into faith

As summer comes to a close... my oldest daughter is off to college, the room is empty and my heart is aching.  It is amazing how the pain from losing my mom 2 years ago has come back up in full swing.  My natural M.O. is to get distracted make myself busy and push the feelings down.... not today... i am going in deeper and sitting in prayer!  I am putting a challenge in front of myself and that is to stop and pray throughout the day... really stop.... breathe... sit in the lap of Christ and listen.  I will keep you posted as to how it goes.  So far, this morning I began with reading and meditating... I heard "Are you really trusting in my love?  will you fall into faith?  will you allow me to dwell inside your heart and will you feel me in every moment.... God is that you?  Yes I say with my head... now it is time to take the leap and say it with my heart.... May we trust and be inspired!..... remembering that the second coming of Christ is not a baby in the manger but the re-birth of Christ within each one of us!!!  God Bless us all!

Meditation for today

Living the Greatest Commandment During the month of the Sacred Heart, I resolve to meditate every day on the beauty, love, and holiness of the Heart of Jesus. To offer in a spirit of reparation part of the suffering and deprivation I now endure, consecrating the rest to other intentions: the conversion and holiness of those who are dear to me, the salvation of others, the good of the Church. In the absence of all conscious joy, to establish myself more firmly than ever by God's grace, in clomplete serenity. Never to show by irritation or by outward exhaustion, which is more likely for me, the moral and physical fatigue caused by certain difficulties and long illness. To do everything to preserve and improve my health, and to make of this disagreeable concern, my practice of self-denial. To learn from the Heart of Jesus the secret of love for others and deep knowledge of them; how to touch their wounds without making them sting, and how to dress them without reopening them; to give myself to them and yet maintain my privacy. To disclose truth in its entirety and yet to make it known according to the degree of light that each can bear. The knowledge needed for this ministry only comes from Jesus Christ, by encountering him in the Eucharist and in prayer. - Servant of God Elisabeth Leseur

as i walk closer to God on my path to holiness why does it feel so heavy?

I got this text the other day.... as I walk on my path to holiness it feels so heavy, how do I find my joy? Wow that is a big question... we all can feel that one! God asks us to walk this earth completely present with our feet firmly grounded in the earth... no longer are we asked to go hide in a cave and meditate all day... we are out in the world and asked to hold His light and eminate it to the world. With that invitation comes the incredible opening of the heart, without walls around your soul. With a heart wide open, the heaviness of the world is experianced, felt and known. How do we find our joy..... by remembering where we came from!!!! Remember we were all angels first before we came to earth and remember that this is ALL part of God's plan! Suffering offers a moment to refine and walk closer to Him. Love through it, Trust through it, and ask Him to fill you with His joy as we walk through the valley of tears. May God Bless us All

a day of grace, St. Catherine of Siena

St. Catherine had the courage to tell the Pope how she felt about the Union of the Catholic Church... she felt it was important the the Pope move back to Rome and claim the succession of St. Peter back in the 1300's.  At that time there were three acting Pope's however Catherine knew that the Pope in Avignon was the true Pope and told him to move back to Rome... He listened and the Catholic Church was whole once again.

We are in similar times now, in need of reformation and renewal.  God Bless Pope Francis!!!  Papa Francisco we are praying for you.

sitting in the dark

Alone with Christ... what does that look like... As I close my eyes and place myself in His lap, I am empty... if not defined by my tasks, who am I.

Wanting to be filled with Him, I remain empty... sitting in the dark, safe in His presence, and in the empty space I begin to feel, aware of what I love... the little things, the hugs from my children, my husband as he reaches out to hold my hand in the middle of the night, the tall mustard greens on the path to my son's school.  The little things is all I can see and stay here.  The moment I begin to project out, I lose myself.

For now, I sit quietly.... trusting in Him to fill me back up...

St. Joseph Happy Day to you

Joseph the just man, dexcended from the house of David, inserts Jesus into the line of David.  Like his Old Testament counterpart, Joseph's faithful disponibility exteded even to his dreams.  Joseph took Mary into his home as his wife, and lover her with a love beyond all human limits.  "Joseph looked on the Blessed Virgin Mary as the high priest looks on the Holy of Holies".  As a true father, Joseph gave Jesus his name, and rescued his infant Son from the murderous designs of King Herod.  Saint Joseph's silent obedience resounds in the Church he protects.   - magnificat

Jesus Heals

When it comes to dealing with sickness and pain, dear Savior, give me an extra measure of faith.  When there are roadblocks to healing, open my eyes to another option.  when there is a diagnosis that is difficult to process, provide me with the certainty that you are still in control and still present every step of the way.  Like the woman who came to you on behalf of her sick daughter, let me be an advocate, too, for those I know who are struggling - assuring them along the way that faith in you can move mountains... AMEN

I am reminded this day, Lord, that you have the power to heal all illness, injury, sickness and disease.  Whether it is mental, physical or spiritual troubles, you have the ability to relieve them all.  Move my lips to speak this truth to those who are disheartened or desperate in their pain.  Let my words and presence bring them a true sense of hope in you for recovery of one kind or another, according to your will.

Servite Brothers

This being the first Friday of lent... I wish all a beautiful moment of reflection and renewal.

February 17th honors the Seven Founders of the Order of Servites in the 13th Century: 
The time in which the seven Servite founders lived is very easily comparable to the situation in which  we find ourselves today.  It is the best of times and the worst of times, as Dickens said.  Some, perhaps many, feel called to a counter cultural life, even in religion.  All of us are faced in new and urgent way with the challenge to make our lives decisively centered in Christ.

Lenten Ashes

Pope Benedict truly embodied the Holy Spirit and although Blessed John Paul could remain joyful through adversity, the burdens that Pope Benedict carries might be too much for him to remain inspirit, and thus we pray for this time of new beginnings and transition... May our beautiful Catholic Church remain open in spirit and open in love, and may we all be guided along our path to heaven. Our prayers remain steadfast as we ask the Our Heavenly Father to reach down His powerful and loving hand and choose our next Pope.




In the beauty of Lent today... may we all receive the ashes as our outward expression of our need to begin again.

Yesterday was the feast day of Saint Blase!  I love the Catholic ceremonies and the ceremony of blessing our throats on St. Blase day is one of my favorites:)...

May God Bless us all on this amazing journey from our head to our heart!!! AMEN It is a perfect day to celebrate St. John Bosco... he educated the whole person - body and soul united. He believed that Christ's love and our faith in that love should pervade everything we do - work, study, play. For John Bosco, being a Christian was a full time effort, not once a week... It is searching and finding God and Jesus in everything we do, letting their love lead us. Yet, John realized the importance of job-training and the self worth and pride that comes with talent and ability so he trained his students well.

St. Vincent

January 22nd is the day that we celebrate St. Vincent who was a Deacon and Martyr... died 304.  Martyrs are heroic examples of what God's power can do.  It is humanly impossible, we realize, for someone to go through tortures such as Vincent had and remain faithful.  But it is equally true that by human power alone no one can remain faithful even without torture or suffering.  God does not come to our rescue at isolated, "special" moments.  god is supporting the super cruisers as well as children's toy boats. 
In times like today those super cruisers are charting new courses... society norms are challenging our faith built moral systems... we must chart a new course and have the courage to seek inside of our heart and soul and follow our faith, our ten commandments and our belief that life is precious and family is the heart of our social structure... protect it now... live your faith out loud NOW!  We all need you!  God Bless

Have the courage to go deep

Today is a great day to sit back, take a deep breath and connect to the angelic realm.  God is real... He is there for all of us, waiting for us to lift the veil between heaven and earth so that He can share the true secrets of life.  Enjoy the moment.... really enjoy, reach deep inside, feel your soul connection to God and enjoy the feeling of safety, the feeling of being loved, the feeling of being guided, the feeling of perfection.  We are perfectly made in His image...breathe that in for a moment....  May God guide us all and may we have the courage to reach out and ask to hold His hand.  Sent with a prayer
